The total surgery time is about 2 hrs but the actual surgery lasts for about an hour only. Post operatively the patient is observed in SICU for 24 hours.

The success of the surgery / implant life depends upon the proper utilization of the replaced Hip joint. The patient is advised not get into high impact activities like jumping and running. However they can walk, climb a fleet of stairs, sit on the floor etc., like any other normal person.

However, activities such as running or playing football may be too much on the artificial joint. But in time, individuals can swim, hike, play golf or ride a bike comfortably.

  • Stiffness in a hip that restricts the ability to lift or move the leg

  • Difficulty to stand from a seated position
